Gambling Spin The Wheel
Introduction
- The Wheel of Fortune is a promotion by 888 Casino which rewards depositing players. To qualify, all you need to do is make a deposit of £20 or more using the promo code SPIN. This will earn you one go on the Wheel of Fortune.
- The wheel is positioned vertically, not horizontally like a roulette wheel, and is spun by the dealer for every turn. No player, other than the dealer, is allowed to touch the Big Wheel. The fact the wheel faces the crowd from a vertical position means it is much easier for everyone placing a bet on the spin to see the outcome.
- Most wheel games have a betting table or poker chips for betting. Wheel games can be in the form of a roulette game or may look like a popular game show like in Wheel of Winners and Wheel of Riches. Fortune Wheel and Lucky Wheel. In these games players will make bets using poker chips and then spin the wheel to win.

The Money Wheel was launched at the Jackpot Casino in Red Deer, Alberta, in June 2011. It is a variation of Big Six, which is the game with the large vertical wheel, usually found near the entrance of casinos and usually dealt by an attractive female dealer. What makes the Money Wheel different is 56 stops instead of 54, and some of them are multipliers. The house edge is also much lower than Big Six, as my analysis below will show.
Rules
- The player may bet on $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, or $40.
- All bets are paid on a to one basis according to the odds of the bet itself. For example, a bet on $5 would pay 5 to 1.
- Four positions on the wheel will multiply any win, known as a Lucky Lucky. Two Lucky Lucky spots multiply the next win by 2x, one 3x, and one 5x. If Lucky Lucky sounds familiar, it is because Lucky Lucky is also a blackjack side bet, both invented by the owner of the Jackpot Casino.
- If the wheel stops in any Lucky Lucky, then all bets will remain in place. No new bets will be allowed. The outcome of the next spin will determine the winning wager, as usual, but the odds will be multiplied by 2, 3, or 5, depending on which Lucky Lucky the wheel stopped in the previous spin.
- In the event the wheel stops in a Lucky Lucky twice in a row, then all wagers will lose.
- The following table shows how the wheel is apportioned.
Let's look at an example. The player bet $20 on the $5 spot. The wheel lands in the 3x Lucky Lucky. The next spin it lands in $5. The player would win $20×$5×3=$300.

Strategy
The lowest house edge is on the $10 at 5.61%. My advice is to bet on that only.
Comparison to Big Six
The following table compares the Money Wheel to four versions of Big Six, also known as the Wheel of Fortune. As you can see, the average house edge is much lower on the Money Wheel compared to American Big Six. You would have to go to Australia to get a better average bet on a vertical wheel. The best single bet anywhere, including Australia, is the $10 at 5.61% house edge on the Money Wheel.

What do you get when you combine the betting system of blackjack with the wheels of roulette? The Money Wheel!
This game is quite simple. All you have to do is spin the wheel and then guess where the wheel will land. It’s somewhat similar to roulette in this way. The only difference is that the betting system is much more similar to blackjack. The Money Wheel is definitely a fun new addition to many online casinos, and will give you an interesting and new way to gamble.
If you’ve heard all the fuss about this game, but haven’t tried it yet, you really don’t know what you’re missing out on.

How the Game Works
Gambling Wheel Parts
The Money Wheel is similar to a roulette wheel; however, the wedges are separated so that some symbols take up more wedges than others. For example, there are more wedges with a ‘1’ sign on them than a ‘3’ sign on them. Similarly, there’s more signs with a ‘3’ on them than a ‘5’ on them. You have 7 options to choose from. They include:
- a red dragon sign, which pays out 45 to 1 as there is only 1 red dragon wedge on the wheel
- a golden lotus sign, which also pays out 45 to 1 as there is only 1 of them on the wheel
- 20, which pays out 20 to 1
- 10, which pays out 10 to 1
- 5, which pays out 5 to 1
- 3, which pays out 3 to 1
- 1, which pays out 1 to 1
The odds are determined based on how often the signs or the numbers appear on the wheel. You can bet on as many positions as you’d like and you can bet as much as you’d like. If the wheel lands on the wedge that you’ve bet on, you will win the payout. If it lands on a wedge that you didn’t bet on, you will lose all of the bets that you’ve made.
How to Place a Bet
The betting table looks similar to a blackjack betting table with each position reserved for a sign. When playing Money Wheel for free and with real money, you can place a minimum bet of 1.00 credit or €1.00 on each position. Bets are capped at a maximum of 100.00 credits or €100.00. You have 5 different chips to play with. Their denominations include 1, 5, 10, 25 and 100. When betting real money on this game, the chips should state your currency.
Game Design and Odds
The Money Wheel is quite a beautiful table game to play. You’ll be taken to a standard blackjack or poker table with a huge wheel in the background. Once you’re comfortable with the bets you’ve made, just hit ‘Spin’, and the game will do everything for you. To make your life easier, there’s also a ‘Rebet’ option that will automatically make the same bets for you as your last spin.
The expected return to player (RTP) of the Money Wheel varies quite a bit. The minimum RTP is expected to be about 80.77% while the maximum RTP is expected to be about 92.31%. On average, the RTP should fall somewhere close to 88.46%. With these odds, hitting the jackpot won’t be easy.
Overall Verdict
The Money Wheel is a fairly simple game that doesn’t require a lot of thinking. All you have to do is place your bet and then spin the wheels. It’s mostly a game of luck. Still, many players seem to enjoy taking a spin on the Money Wheel
